About the Geek
My career was in the film business, but for the last twenty years or so, my hobby has been messing about with computers. Since I retired from movies I have made my hobby self-supporting by providing on-site computer tutoring and repair services for some of my friends and their friends in West Vancouver.
I have no formal training in computer repairs, but I have learned over the years that ninety-nine percent of computer problems don't require the expertise of a rocket-scientist. It isn't necessary to hire an expensive Microsoft-trained technician for a simple job like upgrading your computer, or setting up a home network to share your Internet connection.
If your particular problem should turn out to be beyond my capabilities, I will tell you so, and I won't charge you a cent for my time. No fix - no fee.
